Classics with some soul and love light sprinkled in. Fantastic outings for Gin, and Bowie. Cross-eyed explored some new territory and Fuego goes deep, easily the MVP for the night. Listen I'm not he biggest fan of the soul light stuff but overall this was a good show, they leave us hanging on the K S in the encore which is just so them, Kung->Sneaking Sally would have blown the lid off the place. Even without 20 min + jams phish delivered a great dicks run, don't discount these micro jams, trey was in total control ripping every single night.

The band came out with great energy with First Tube (Trey was amped and already holding his guitar to the sky). Solid, concise jamming throughout the first set that ended with a really well-played Fluffhead. Not sure how many people realize the complexity to nail that song live but most bands would record a song like that once in studio and never play it again due to the degree of difficulty. Not Phish - reason #420 why they are one of the best bands on Earth.

There will always be those who complain about song selection (you can't please some people all of the time) but the second set was full of excellent jams and the boys were just totally in synch. Trey has really worked on his vocals over the past few years and the results showed throughout but especially during A Life Beyond the Dream (a song of emotional depth that maybe comes with life experiences). As throughout the weekend, the band was pushing the jams out of comfort zones throughout with Trey experimenting in Bowie and Divided Sky before returning to the scripted peaks.

A great Divided Sky and then Trey's heartfelt speech/tribute to PI followed by ICCULUS (!) and a rousing Character Zero. Heard actual complaining they didn't complete the spelling of DICKS. Hopefully folks realize they had already hit Sunday curfew and maybe just ran out of time. Regardless, at least for me, it's about the actual music and Phish brought it all weekend.

These guys are 57 (and 59) years-old and still expertly performing over 200 different, and often complex, songs a year! That level of musicianship takes work and, yes, rehearsal. I, for one, prefer not to describe Phish like they are an Operating System but instead just appreciate that after nearly 40 years, they are still evolving as musicians and bringing it show after show. Thanks for another great, Labor Day weekend Jon, Mike, Page, and Trey!
